The street front of this dwelling consists of a self contained unit, initially intended for a student dwelling or professional couple. This enables a passive surveillance of visitors to the dwelling beyond and a buffer to the busy street.

The main house entry is gained through a garden walk depending down into the site.

A brick planter and fish pond next to the entry, with hardwood battens for planting to grow along the facade of the building.

The access up and down through the building all happens along the southern edge, allowing for an easy orientation and movement.

The main living area is elevated amongst a stand of existing mature trees on the site. This gives both a sense of security and privacy to the space.
